I WAS TOUCHED INAPPROPRIATELY DURING MY MASSAGE. Stay far away. If you want to know what happened and how terribly this business responded, keep reading. In case you think this is made up or an over reaction, the North Miami Beach Police officer I reported it to agreed that I was assaulted. I was on the massage table, face down. As the person massaged my upper thighs, he brushed his fingers against my vagina. I assumed it was accidental when he did it a second time. This time I moved my pelvis off the massage table and away from his hands. The third time I stated, out loud “Be mindful of your fingers, you are touching my vagina and its is making me uncomfortable. ” The rest of the massage was without incident. I paid and left. I was so bothered by this perverted action, that I decided to file a complaint against the massage therapist to whatever board regulates massage therapy. I called Tokyo Massage/Barefoot Spa ,(same owner Meibu LLC) and spoke first with an unidentified person and then to Julie, who represented herself as the manager. Her response? ‘”OK. How about I fire that guy and give you a free massage next time.” How is that an appropriate response to an assault?? A free massage? Infuriating. I told her plainly that I dont care about a free massage or 7anything other than the information needed to report the massage therapist. I want the name and license number of the person who assaulted me. She then pretended that she couldt tell me who gave me the massage there were sòòoo many couples that time” . Interesting that she now cant figure out the name of the person she was supposedly going to fire. She refused, after several calls and attempts to provide the license information.. So, now I’ve taken the next step and filed a police report. Im taking time out of my vacation to ensure this person doesn’t get away with this and that this business doesn’t cover it up. as I believe they are doing now. i will be filing a complaint with the BBB and the Florida state board on Monday as soon as they open. I live across the country and will fly back if I have to to pursue this. I would hate for someone else to be violated in this way. The lack of any reasonable response from this business should tell you not to trust this establishment. STAY FAR AWAY. Based on my experience here, this business is protecting a predator. Maybe he was unlicensed? Either way, this place turned out to be the literal worst. Ive had massages for over 20 years and I’ve NEVER been violated this way, Shame on you!!!!! Go to Yelp, you will read another account of misconduct one month before my assault. Updated to add: Julie called today to “resolve the issue” offering me money this time. What I want, that is still lacking. Is the information to hold this person accountable and ensure others are on notice. Name and license number. Reputable businesses don’t sheild predators. She called from the Barefoot Spa, confirming the location. If you have had a similar preparatory experience, please contact North Miami Beach Police dept and file an incident report. This kind of predator operates when folks are silent and he is seemingly supported in his actions by 5mthr business. Truly disgusting. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.
